Shearwaters, the leading Dutch employment law boutique
Shearwaters represents internationally operating corporates, financial institutions and (senior) executives. The firm helps its clients navigate through the complexities of Dutch corporate
employment law by providing:
- Transactional support
- Strategic advice
- Litigation and mediation
The lawyers at Shearwaters are committed and trusted advisors; they are highly specialised and very experienced in their field, having worked at global law firms Baker McKenzie and Linklaters for a combined period of over 75 years. They are particularly adept at advising clients on delicate (executive) dismissals, works council consultation processes, executive remuneration, collective redundancies and reorganisations (including negotiations with trade unions on social plans).
Independent global legal directories Chambers and Partners, Legal 500 and Employment Law Experts recommend and rank Shearwaters as a leading firm.
“Practice head Martijn van Broeckhuijsen of Shearwaters is recognised as a “highly experienced and knowledgeable” employment specialist. He is frequently instructed to advise on the employment aspects of M&A transactions, executive dismissals and remuneration. He acted for Crown Van Gelder on its dismissal of a prominent board member.”
